Vehicle Accident Sends Two to the Hospital

Interstate 40 -

On August 25, 2013 at 10:24 pm, Pinion Pine firefighters received an alarm for a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 40 near the 88 mile marker westbound. B526 arrived on scene with to find a passenger car resting upright in the median with moderate damage. The vehicle left the roadway for unknown reason, causing it to rollover end over end. Two patients were self extricated from the vehicle with obvious injuries upon arrival.  It was found that the driver was ejected from the vehicle and the passenger received a laceration to the head. Both patients were transported to an area hospital by ground in stable condition. The Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. The incident did not cause any traffic restrictions.
