Highway 93 -

On September 14, 2013 at 11:34 pm, Kingman Alarm received multiple calls regarding a vehicle that had rolled on Highway 93 near mile marker 110 which brought the response of 1 engine and 1 Chief Officer. While in route, additional information was received that there was possibly 2 occupants ejected and the Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol was performing CPR on a child. Battalion 5 requested an airship to be launched and an additional ground ambulance be dispatched to the scene. Once units arrived on scene, it quickly became clear their were a total of 5 patients, two trauma patients and two patients with minor injuries. At this time, Battalion 5 requested a second airship to be launched. Unfortunately, the efforts to resuscitate the child were unsuccessful. Both trauma patients were airlifted by Careflight helicopters to area trauma centers and both occupants with minor injuries were transported by ground for evaluation. The accident closed northbound traffic for roughly 2 hours. The cause of the accident is unknown and being investigated by the Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol.
